About My Work

My name is Marc Sviland, I am a Veteran with 21 years of Naval Service.  My wife and I retired to Beaufort S.C. in 2018, choosing to live in the laid back style of the Low Country.  I work from my home shop in the heart of the historic district of Beaufort.  I work with arborists and tree services to get my material.

My work is all hand made from 'found wood.'  Trees at the end of their life cycle allowing me to give them a rebirth into a new form, a new life cycle, a positive change, other than ending up in the land fills or being burned.  I like to use the natural patterns of the wood to talk to its beauty and complexity.  Therefore, each piece is as individual as the tree it came from.

Custom work is always accepted, especially for Urns as their size will vary according to your need.
